3 Reasons Why An Interactive Website Is A Critical Tool In  Controlling Childcare Center Costs

by Kimberly Newman @enrollsmart

For the past few weeks, we've been in the field working with Directors and Owners. The focus of our time in the field has been spent on re-affirming the pain points as well as the opportunities that exist for childcare centers when it comes to technology.

During one visit, we spoke with a center owner who had just signed up for a childcare center management system and, they really didn't under the difference between a website and, an administration system.  So, we spent some time explaining the difference.

We also discussed how our interactive websites can be linked to any web-based childcare administration system and, how our web platform is customer facing and that childcare administration systems are management facing and can, often times, lead to more work.

Here are 3 core benefits that a website should provide a childcare center when it comes to controlling costs:

1. Self Service - A website should be intelligent and give parents and employees the ability to serve themselves when it comes to submitting documents and engaging in routine activities such as completing enrollment forms, clocking in and out for attendance or work purposes or, making payments.  By offering these features, a website reduces the workload of the Owner/Director and allows more focus on program management.

2. Reduction in Printing and Storage - Printing and storage costs are huge for childcare centers because state forms are in paper or PDF form and are not digital and, they must be kept on file 3-7 years after a child has left a facility.  This has become a tremendous cost burden for childcare centers. Enrollsmart is really making a difference in the area of online enrollment and digitizing the workflow of centers so that boxes and boxes of old files don't accumulate.  The average child enrollment file contains 15 documents.

3. Data - By having a website and sending parents to your website from your Google listing and Social Media pages, you can analyze where your customers are likely to come from and this, in turn, allows you to do more effective marketing and planning; which allows you to better control your marketing dollars.
